Clay Night Out

This is Not your Mother’s Ceramics Class! If you’ve always wanted to try your hand at creating a functional piece of art from a lump of clay these hand-building workshops are for you. Learn the basics of pottery including slab rolling, coil making, using texturizing tools and stampers, attaching decorative elements, and lots more! If you would like to schedule a private workshop for your group of 6 or more, please contact Carolyn to make arrangements.

  • Create & Glaze a Serving Platter

    Thursday evenings, September 28 (create) & November 2 (glaze) 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.  

    $65 per person (plus firing fee, which is based on the finished size of your piece)

    Enjoy an evening learning how to work with slabs, stampers, texturizing tools and more as you create a unique, functional piece of art.  Once your piece has been bisque fired, return for a second evening to glaze, choosing from a multitude of glazing combinations.  Repeat students are welcome to make a variation of this project.

  • Create a Woven Basket

    Thursday evening, October 19, 2017  7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

    $50 per person (plus firing fee, which is based on the size of your finished piece)

    Learn the art of weaving with clay. You’ll use clay strips to create interesting functional ware in the shape of your choice. Your piece will be finished in the glaze that you choose.

  • Create Hand-Built Bowls, Dishes & Mugs

    Thursday evenings, November 30, 2017 (create) and January 11, 2018 (glaze). 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

    $65 per person (plus firing fee, which is based on the size of your finished piece)

    Learn how to make a pinch pot (the basis for so many great projects!), as well as slabs and templates to create your piece.  Once your pieces have been bisque fired, return for a second evening to glaze, choosing from a multitude of glazing combinations.
